My students are elementary children in grades K-5 in an inner city public school. My lab services approximately 400 students a week. Yes, that's a lot of students. Many of them are ELL students from around the world; Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Japan, Albania, Somalia, Kenya and many other countries. They come to the computer lab to improve their language arts and math skills. We have laptops but because of the many users the headphones tend to need to be replaced every few years. My students need headphones so that they can learn to speak, read and write well in English.
