All of the books included in my project will support my students immensely as they continue to develop their literacy skills. Part of a highly-effective classroom is a classroom library that keeps students engaged with reading. I searched for books that my students would actually want to read. I picked books that include windows and mirrors for my students' lived experiences. By donating to this project, you will give my students the chance to experience these windows and mirrors through literature. My students deserve new, high-quality books with characters they can relate to. They deserve to learn about the experiences of others with historically marginalized identities. Books are a great way to show my students different experiences that will support them as they become intelligent and compassionate human beings. I will be incredibly honored if you choose to fund my project. Know how you will touch the lives of not only my 23 students this coming year, but also my future students as all of these books will be maintained and made available to future classes.
