My classroom is an 8:1:1 1st-3rd grade class for students with Autism. I have seven boys and one girl. The population is a mix of African American and Hispanic students and my students range in their strengths and abilities. However, they all love learning and demonstrate academic curiosity with the different projects and lessons I provide. Each day my students have to overcome sensory challenges, processing challenges, and academic challenges in order to be successful in the classroom, and it is my job to find the best ways to help my students achieve that success. In order to do this, I must be creative in finding ways to gather materials, visuals, technology, and reinforcing items for my students.

About my class
