In teaching 6th grade the transition to middle school is just as important as the content and skills taught. Through this professional development experience I will be participating in the 5th and 6th grade track and learning more about how make the 6th grade year more supportive, developmentally appropriate, and all around magical for my students! I will receive training from some of today’s top educators who are experts at their craft in the classroom and participate in hands on experiences that will provide me with ready to use strategies that can be implemented the very next day! Some of these include social emotional learning strategies, increasing executive functioning skills, improve resiliency capacity and create new ways to build community in the classroom.

About my class
