In my classroom, students work alone, in pairs, in small groups, and large groups much like the real world. They work collaboratively and with technology enhanced opportunities to explore the content in depth and hands-on. Their work is routed in real-world problems and tasks and creates opportunities for multiple means of entry, mastery, and extension. Students move around the room between learning stations to provide a variety of activities. Students share their thinking and strategies with each other and justify their decision-making to enhance their learning. These materials will provide supplies for the stations and enhance the overall experience with manipulatives and tools for visualization of concepts. Students will have opportunities to model their thinking with the supplies in this project in a variety of ways. The printer will allow for students to get immediate printed feedback from any station in the room. The tables are for the technology and the power tower are for the technology-enhanced station where students will work using laptops or iPads. The carts and organization bins will provide locations where students can get supplies, like pens, paper, rulers, markers, color tiles, etc for modeling mathematical situations and recorded their observations. The equation balance is especially for my struggling students to help them visualize solving equations by balancing the scales.
