In my school district, we have 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school. About 40% of the students that are enrolled in my school district are high needs and 32% are economically disadvantaged. I am special education teacher in a substantially separate classroom for kindergarten and first grade students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. My classroom thrives on sensory, hands-on materials for coping strategies, de-escalation and focus.
