Our school does not have a library so each English teacher cultivates and manages their classroom library. Try as I might it's hard to keep books on my shelves and sometimes students can't quite find the right fit for them. Also, there are new and wonderful books being published every year! My developing readers need engaging books from diverse authors! My students' families work long and hard hours in order to provide students with opportunities they did not have. Many students do not have a library of books at home or the time and ability to go to the library. I have found highly engaging books from various genres that all of my students are interested in. Having access to engaging books has the power to share with students about themselves and the world
