Our school is in a small, rural town on the outskirts of a large city in Florida. Many of the students at my school are on "free or reduced lunch," meaning that it is a high-poverty population. The students enrolled in the club are in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, and we meet after-school once a week for an hour. There are approximately 50 students enrolled. They are highly motivated and enthusiastic when it comes to learning these instruments, with several of them coming into the music room before school for additional practice. We have a wide range of playing levels among the students, from absolute beginners to intermediate-level guitarists.
