I am requesting Phonics Friends Curriculum from Teachers Pay Teachers. I spent most of the year long-term subbing in first grade classrooms in both hybrid and virtual settings. I saw students who were eager to learn struggle to learn diagraphs over Zoom. It is hard to clearly hear specific sounds over the computer and difficult to teach how to properly make those sounds with a mask on in person. Because of how many students I saw struggle with this in first-grade, I want to be prepared to give my second-graders everything they need to be successful next year, which will be my first year in my own classroom! I love the Phonics Friends curriculum because it presents the sounds in a relatable, fun way. It assigns catchy names to the sounds and provides excellent practice pages for all learners.
