A book can take us anywhere: to another city, or even explore an alternative world where each student becomes immersed in the lives of the characters and learning about a culture entirely different from their own. Reading is a very powerful tool that expands the mind of every child. Reading is so important because it helps each student to explore new words, phrases, and experience emotions that will enhance their development. This is why I advocate every day the importance of reading a book. Reading is a key part of our class daily routine, which I would love to continue to help build in our diverse classroom. Each student will be able to use these wonderful books in class to practice a specific reading skill and/or strategy when working independently. With these books each student will build their fluency and hopefully help me instill a lifelong passion and love for reading.
