Some of the immediate benefits of flexible seating include: burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. There is no denying that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. The items below will be used to promote a sense of personalized learning, engagement, and academic success. Part of my ideal classroom environment includes what will look very similar to a living room/family room. In front of the smart board, there will be a large, bright yellow carpet used during whole group lessons and times of collaboration. Around the carpet there will be two large pallet couches. The four bench cushions will be placed on the pallet couches for comfortability. The Wobble/Stability Cushions will be used during independent/partner activities. These seating options adapt to fitness needs and sitting comfort. They also improve concentration. Thank you for your time and consideration.
