"Your first year of teaching will be a challenge." I have heard this statement everyday since I started my teaching career and it holds some truth. Teaching is difficult especially when you have limited resources. My goal as a teacher is to try and give my students multiple ways to access the information that I am trying to teach them. Sometimes I have them draw out information, other times I have them act it out-there are so many ways to try and reach students. My goal is to introduce students to different style of text (traditional and digital) in hopes that they will make connection that last. I teach at a small coastal school where 30% of the student population are at risk. In order to keep the students engaged and wanting to come to class, I try to provide them with great lessons and activities based upon their learning styles. While it is a challenge at time, I would not change my career for anything.
