The most needed item for our first-grade classroom is a new carpet and a few new cushions. We do our best learning when we are all together on the carpet, but many students find themselves too distracted by the years' worth of damage on the carpet: old tape stains, unraveling thread, etc. We tend to put forth additional effort into a given task when allowed to use cushions and pillows for ultimate comfort while learning. Many of the cushions and pillows in our classroom already have suffered the same way the carpet has, so new cushions, especially easily cleanable cushions, would be a phenomenal addition to our classroom! In our DonorsChoose project, we also have requested some fidget toys which are fantastic incentives!
