I have the privilege of teaching students who are bilingual learners in a one-way dual language program. It's a fun way of saying we learn in both languages (English and Spanish) each and every day! Our program fosters students' abilities to become truly bilingual and biliterate. My students receive breakfast, lunch and a snack every day as we are in a high-needs district; one of the higher childhood poverty rates in the state. Despite these challenges, my little learners are an energetic, creative, hard working, fun and talented group of readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists and historians who greet me at the door each morning with a big, warm, smile ready to learn!
