We have begun our Physiology unit with our 4th - 6th year students! We are so lucky to have access to such unique Montessori tools that allow us to learn about the different parts of the human body and encourage students to learn hands-on. Our students love models that allow them to touch the things they are learning about. I often find myself building 3D models of things we are studying. This time around students requested to complete dissections! After consulting with the students and our classroom team we decided that this year we will focus on the nervous system, circulatory system, and skeletal system. Our explorations of these systems will be between 1-3 weeks and will conclude with a correlating dissection; for example the end of the circulatory system will conclude with a heart dissection.
