Several of our students have emotional disturbance disorders and are constantly practicing emotional regulation, cooling down, and alternative appropriate behaviors. Creating a space with bean bag chairs and fuzzy rugs creates a safer space for students with emotional disturbance disorders to relax! This space also represents a change of location from wherever the trigger event occurred. There is also an element of "softness" that isn't lost on kids - this is a space to let down your guard and feel safe, practice skills, and reset to get ready to go back to class or a challenging environment.

About my class
