These students struggle daily with academic, communication, and functional skills. They have low adaptive and communication functioning, sensory needs as well as social and emotional deficits that make daily demands of life extremely challenging. Through this program we started, they have had exposure to the general education population, met the entire staff in the building, and practiced priceless communication with peers and adults alike! This opportunity has created exposure necessary for them to meet the needs of their challenges in a safe and structured environment as well as gain the confidence to have turn taking conversations with a variety of communication partners!

About my class
