I am a 7th grade science and Project Lead the Way teacher in Elmhurst, Illinois. As of right now, I have nearly 170 students who come to my classroom with a wide range of needs. Quite a few of my students have 504 plans and sensory needs. In my previous experiences, I have seen the benefits of flexible seating on keeping students focused and keeping the jitters away. As kids get older, we begin to think they can sit still for longer periods of time. Personally, I don't want my students sitting in uncomfortable chairs for an entire period. While my instruction offers opportunities to get up and move, those opportunities are not always easily available and some students need even more movement. With the addition of Bouncy Bands, I know students can channel their energy into learning. I am passionate about creating a learning environment that caters to the needs of all students!
