Living in Southern Louisiana, we are accustomed to some degree of humidity. However, having to cope with a lot of humidity inside is something that most do not have to be accustomed to. My students will be coping with this every day without having a dehumidifier in the classroom. My students need a dehumidifier in the classroom to make the environment more comfortable and healthier for them. I am requesting a dehumidifier for my classroom. I am in a new classroom that is located in a wing that sits very close to the wooded area behind our school campus. The humidity that accumulates in the class, as a result, is overwhelming. Everything stays damp, including the cushions on several of the chairs in the room leaving the students and adults with wet pants from sitting on them. I want to be able to provide a better environment for my students so they do not have to be uncomfortable and be concerned about their work and belongings getting damaged from the moisture in the air.
