My students are 7th graders who come from a rural area of West Virginia that is high-poverty, and the majority of my students qualify for free-reduced lunches. Many of my students' families cannot afford to purchase basic school supplies for their children; therefore, this usually falls onto the school and classroom teachers to provide for the students. My students are creative and love to use these skills and apply them to the historical topics that we cover in class.
