Since September, I have been telling my students that they are writing a book. Their best written work will be part of it, and they will be able to take it home at the end of the year. They were really happy about that. My students love to write. Right now, the books are imaginary. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when their books become real! I have saved all their work, and they will have a lot of fun revisiting what they've written and creating new, improved work to include in their books. Students will decide what is worthy and will be able to revise pieces as they see fit. Their books will include a variety of writing, such as anecdotes about their lives, opinion pieces, informative writing, narratives, and models/explanations from our science investigations. Pieces will be encased in sheet protectors, and students will design covers for their books. Having their own books will give their writing even more of a purpose. I am excited for them! Thank you for your consideration in funding this project. I truly appreciate the opportunity that Donor's Choose provides!
