My classroom is a community of students who have a chance to have their voice heard in a safe environment where they feel supported and respected. My classroom is a community where we take risks and celebrate one another's success. Words to describe my classroom include: supportive, safe, engaging, and rigorous. My obvious passion for teaching along with my love for math and STEM spills over onto the students and many who say they do not enjoy those subjects quickly find themselves saying phrases such as, "wow, that was fun," and "class is really over already?" Although students come from different backgrounds with different obstacles, when they enter my classroom, they all have a chance to escape those struggles and be the best student they know they can be. We are a classroom full of learners, of mathematicians, of scientists and of our future's leaders.
