Our Kindergarten day consists of many different activities carried out in both small and large groups. The kindergartners are learning to build independence and gain stamina in the classroom. Children are learning to read and write, understand basic math concepts and develop social skills so they can begin to become successful members of the community. In Kindergarten, we try to have a very "hands-on, minds on" environment. Students are more engaged and focused when they're working on hands-on projects. Children often acquire knowledge by acting and then reflecting on their experiences, therefore my young students love to move around in the classroom. I love to read and exposure my students to different types of literature and we have rich discussions about the text. We have fun every single day and create a classroom where children are able to take risks and continue to grow and adapt in this ever-changing world.
