Research shows that students experience music more authentically when sitting on the floor instead of in chairs. These rugs are a staple in music rooms across the country for many reasons. Not only do they offer students a comfortable place to sit, they are also interactive! The rugs themselves can be used to teach about musical notation, dictation, sight reading, note identification, and instrument identification. The icons on the rugs can be used to create effective seating charts. More importantly, these rugs will be used to teach musical concepts in an unexpected and interactive way!
