Our school's media center serves grades 5-8 and a student population of nearly 900. The media center needs help so it can serve these students better - students deserve to see themselves reflected in the content of the books available. Students' voices should be heard when they request books. Fostering lifelong readers means providing students with high-interest texts and maintaining a collection that is both relevant and diverse. In our media center we also have the beginnings of a makerspace. I teach after school STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) club where students collaborate to try new things and use the engineering process of design to craft things to take home.

About my class
