There are much better options besides only getting to sit in the traditional chair and desk while learning. Flexible seating is seating in the classroom that enables students to discover how they learn best. Educational research has been telling us that student choice helps students perform better in the classroom. Students choosing their seats is one way we can empower students with choice. Each day the students in our classroom will get to choose the spot they sit in to do their best. In a flexible seating classroom, students are not up roaming around, playing, or talking with friends all day. They are still held accountable for the same quality of work but are given the chance to do it in a spot where they feel most successful.

About my class
