Cube chairs are the optimal seats for my students. They are colorful, sturdy and their shape provides a boundary for students to sit up and stay in their designated space. Currently, we are using classroom chairs from the tables (which my para and I need to move back and forth each time) and children tend to flop out of, due to the lack of sides to support their bodies. With so many little energetic bodies running around, the less time to transition and set up, the better. Beyond the chairs, having access to a weighted compression vest will also allow select students additional support to sit and attend. The combined pressure and weight of the vest functions as a reassuring deep hug, providing steady, soothing sensory input and calming benefits for a sensory diet. Having a set of cube chairs and access to sensory input will give my students the support they need to calm their bodies and engage in more effective learning. Please help our classroom! Thank you!
