Children who are developmentally delayed begin to feel discouraged when additional academic demands are put on them, thus making the gaps even bigger. Using the Big Red Barn play set in conjunction with the squeezy animals, students are able to learn and expand basic concepts/vocabulary and social skills in a fun and engaging environment. Through early, play-based, speech and language therapy, we can build personal confidence and the foundational skills needed to be successful in the academic setting. Using the Fisher-Price: Little People Books will introduce children to early literacy skills needed for Kindergarten and lifting the flaps within the book will help strengthen fine-motor skills needed for written output.
