Reading, listening and sharing stories help children become familiar with sounds, language, and the importance of books. Reading also sparks children's imagination and stimulates curiosity. This is why I am requesting a listening center with books on CD. It is so important for children to have a love for reading. If you help fund the supplies, my students' love for reading can take off. I hope my students will become more excited about listening to stories, reading and creating their own stories. The more students listen and read, the more they will be exposed to language. They will be excited to use their own headphones and listen to new and fun stories on CD.
