Hi, I'm a middle and high school science teacher in a 6-12 urban arts magnet. In my 24 years at it, one thing that has always been true is that kids get excited by stuff to do stuff with. From a Van der Graaf generator setting their hair on end, to a microscope to look at the creepy (but normal) critters that live in their eyebrows, to rubble from a phosphate mine full of Miocene fossils to identify, if you have materials to put in kids' hands and let them explore, they're engaged, thinking, learning - and enjoying learning! Thanks so much for your help keeping the good learning going!
