My classroom is for students who are gifted in reading and math, so I included novels, literary series like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, biographies about scientists and mathematicians, and a globe to find the places we discuss. The school library has many great books, but most of the books I chose are not available in the school library. My project is designed to challenge math thinking in my classroom, teach gifted students the value of learning from famous thinkers, and to offer my students opportunities to play enriching games and practice winning and losing. I plan to use the books to spark their thinking and start conversations about big ideas and famous thinkers. Thank you for supporting my classroom!
