Studies have shown that students that feel comfortable are more likely to be engaged in their learning. Instead of sitting in old and falling apart desks, I want to offer my students a flexible setting style classroom that offers them the ability to learn and grow in a room that feels more like a book store and less like an old school classroom. I have found that when it is group time, students often ask to sit on the floor or in the few extra chairs I have in my room. During this time they are fully engaged and focused on the task. With this project students will have the choice to decide where they learn best.
