Although Desmos is coming out as a widely available and useful tool, students are still only allowed to use graphing calculators on the majority of standardized tests (ACT, SAT, AP tests). With the high cost of a graphing calculator being $100 - $150, buying a graphing calculator is often out of reach and a low priority for most of the students at my school. By supplying our students with a graphing calculator, students will get a fair shot on the ACT, SAT, and AP tests. They will have time to practice using a TI-84 calculator. This will build the muscle memory important for various calculations, and will allow them to become familiar with the different tools, operations, and modes on the TI-84. Please consider donating to these fantastic students!
