The most defining characteristic of my students is their strong sense of community and desire to work towards making a better life for themselves and their families. Our school is an urban public high school with over 90% English language learners and over 90% free and reduced lunch. They understand the importance of an education and how it can lead to more opportunities after high school. Many of them are preparing to attend college in within the next two years in order to have better jobs than their parents. They are incredibly hard working and driven to succeed.
