The classroom set of headphones will be used to help students focus on the lessons they will be learning from their home environments. This will be especially important for my students who need extra language and literacy support. Learning from home could bring a distracting environment, so it will be important to give each student an equal opportunity to hear the lessons and to practice speaking and listening to develop those crucial language skills. The math kits that I plan to build will include the base ten pieces and the red/white chips for a hands on experience learning math from home. When students are able to physically practice regrouping numbers while learning each operation, it helps develop foundational concepts of place value. With your help, my students could be more engaged and have a sense of normalcy while learning from home this year. Thank you!
