My students are eager and have a strong desire to accomplish more than they have before. We work together to have community circle meetings and just take time to talk and share our thoughts and feelings. We sure do love to talk! In class, we are collaborative and inquisitive. The energy level is high, with the students always wanting to get up and move! The school we are at is very low income and we are Title 1. We see this as an opportunity to push forward and prove to others that this doesn't define who we are. This requires us to sometimes look for other options and to get more creative in how we work on things and what supplies we can use or modify to make them work for us. Many of the students come from very low-income families and are trying to find their own path in the world. We are working together to discover who we are and what that means to our class, school and especially to our community.
