My students are actively engaged in school and have such a strong desire to discover new ideas on a daily basis. I want to continue to foster this engagement by getting my students more materials to develop more hands-on, project based, STEM lessons. STEM lessons can be integrated with other subjects, allowing my students more opportunities to experience science in a positive and fun manner. As one of my students wrote about hands-on exploration, "It gives me the chance to be in the project, not just seeing it in 2D, but in 3D". We are asking for safety goggles, a barometer, magnifying glasses, and a hands-on exploration kit filled with over 100 fossils. Throughout the year we learn different scientific concepts such as weather patterns, natural hazards, designing and engineering solutions to problems, forces and motion, life cycles, living organisms from long ago, and so many others! With these safety goggles my students will be able to safely observe, design, engineer and work with scientific materials. The magnifying glasses will allow them to view objects close up to make deeper observations such as of plants or leaves. The barometer will let them accurately make predictions about the weather. Finally, the fossil kit gives my students the opportunity to get a close up look at creatures that lived many years ago. We hope you will choose to support the continuation of our scientific learning!
