I am a special education teacher in a 2nd and 3rd grade classroom in an urban school setting. My students have a wide variety of developmental needs. My class is full of energetic students who are ready to learn. They are very eager to learn to read and are learning to work together in a small group setting in Daily 5 rotations. Unfortunately, most of my students are affected by poverty. Some do not have access to books or basic school supplies at their home. Students receive free breakfast and lunch. I am inspired daily by my students and their daily drive to try their best.
