My students come to school eager to learn and interact with their peers and teachers. It is often difficult to get them to leave at the end of the day because a classroom is a safe and exciting place for them. They come from a community that is low income (100% receive free breakfast and lunch) and often are faced with more challenges than a child should ever have to face. Most are children of immigrants, if not immigrants themselves. It is a high needs district many being English Learners or Special Eduction students. They never fail to amaze me in their hard work and we challenge each other everyday.
