Although my students have exceptionalities including receptive-expressive speech language impairment, intellectual disabilities, Autism, and Down syndrome, they are all very bright and eager learners. My students learn in unique ways; through play, thematic story book units, repetitive practice, and small group instruction. Some of my students are in the early phases of learning how to communicate. Together we are working on pointing to show interest, answering simple questions, taking turns, and engaging in conversation with others. These are building blocks of communication that my students will use to succeed in school. Every day brings a different challenge but we all have such a fun time learning together.

About my class
