Having students with special needs requires a lot of repetition and continued practice. I have students in 6-8th grades who regularly practice basic skills like math and reading and continue to make huge strides even though the deck is stacked against them. These students are hard working and love to learn even though they know that learning does not come easy to them. They glory in mastering a topic, and revel in the simple skills they accomplish on a daily basis. They continue to inspire me, their parents, classmates, and other teachers in the building.
