Our class continues to grow everyday. As a result, we need more stools for seating at our guided reading table, which is an important part of our classroom because it is where I provide tailored reading instruction to my students based on their needs. Letter by letter, word by word, and sentence by sentence is the mindset in my classroom towards reading. Bit by bit we will learn to master the new and difficult English language. My students are English language learners, so they need as many materials as possible to help them build letter recognition, blend sounds together to form words, and increase their English vocabulary. These materials will be used during guided reading and read-to-self stations. Students will practice their letter recognition and letter sounds with the teacher at guided reading, and then independently at read-to-self station. With an increased English vocabulary, my students will be able to quickly excel in school and pursue higher education later in life. The materials in this project will help achieve this goal and help my students have fun the process of learning English.
