I have a unique opportunity to work with students that are gifted AND come from Spanish speaking backgrounds. These students deserve the opportunity to be inspired and enriched with such a beloved novel of the Spanish speaking world, as is Don Quijote, in their native language. Students do not often have the opportunity to read a Spanish novel and this project gives them the opportunity to engage with Don Quijote on various levels. Students will analyze the characters and the themes of the text through whole group, small group, and independent readings and exploration of the text. As a final project, students will create skits based on the novel and present these to their peers as well as other students from our school.
