These materials will give access to my students that they traditionally would not have. The brother embroidery machine will allow my students to deepen their sewing skills while also exploring how building this skill set can translate into future business opportunities. My students have enjoyed and excelled at learning how to sew and craft. These materials will allow my students to deepen their skills and hone in on their craft. By donating to my project you are giving opportunities to students who enjoy sewing and are eager to learn more about sewing and embroidering. The ability to create something from nothing gives you a sense of power and confidence. It teaches you ownership and determination. The importance of co-curricular classes is monumental. They give students access to new skills that they build upon throughout the school day. They allow students to push their knowledge about the world and apply real skills in doing so. My students come from an underserved community. They do not have the same access to tools that other communities do. Learning how further develop their sewing skill kit and how to be a successful business person helps us close the opportunity gap one stitch at a time.
