My students are playful, curious, and resilient. They are diverse learners with special needs, including cognitive, learning, and emotional and behavioral disabilities, who live in Austin, a high-poverty community on Chicago's west side. Many of them have experienced academic struggle and failure for years. Despite all the challenges, my students are motivated to improve and succeed. Although our school community is deeply committed to ensuring that they have access to the appropriate supports for their learning, it is also severely under-resourced. All of the donations, whether they are classroom supplies or learning supports, given to our classroom helps students feel valued and supported. We appreciate your generosity and consideration!
