Using the whiteboard is a daily activity in our classroom, especially during calendar time. We discuss the letter and number of the week, tally marks, patterns, etc. Soon, I want to begin introducing sight words. By providing my students with whiteboards, markers, and erasers, they will be able to participate in my lessons in a more hands-on way. When I am teaching students about our letter of the week, they will be able to practice writing it uppercase and lowercase, then write words that begin with that letter. We will also start writing our sight words. Additionally, they will be able to write numbers and represent numbers in other ways besides just writing the numeral.
