I am a strong supporter of hands on activities to truly grasp the attention and focus of my students. Sensory items allow me to use the product across the board with all of my students. I could use the kinetic sand and animal cut outs to target the imitation of actions and build joint attention. On the other hand, I could use it to stick articulation cards in and have my students search for the treasure..all the while working on strengthening articulation! Please help me provide a reason for my students to keep pushing to learn! Sensory play is a good way to facilitate language across a variety of developmental levels. These items will allocate me the opportunity to continue to provide innovative therapy approaches as well as work collaboratively with fellow teachers. It's all about supporting each other so that we can better aid in the success of our students.
