The store will motivate students to exert more effort academically and increase appropriate classroom behaviors. Students will earn money by modeling these expectations and in return they will be given an opportunity to purchase items or free time in a given period. In addition, they will learn money management skills (how to count money, money back, saving, etc.) They will "deposit" money daily in their bank boxes. At the end of the week students will balance their bank accounts. They will be permitted to purchase snacks, drinks, and other available items and be required to count out the money. They will learn to save money to purchase items of greater value. This will enable them to succeed when functioning in daily life skill situations.
