Greetings, I am Ms. Gregory, I teach sixth-grade English Language Arts at Southeast Middle School in the Hazelwood School District. I have about 125 students and they are bright funny kids who unfortunately would rather play video games than read a book. But, that doesn't keep me from pushing books on them and pushing them to read more. I believe that if a student finds the right book at the right time they will fall in love with the written word and will expand their minds as well as their vocabulary and they will become better thinkers. Readers are made not born and sometimes if you catch them at just the right time with just the right book they will make a connection with it and that hunger for reading will grow and develop within them. I know I'm not a superhero, and that I don't have magic powers, but I do have books and the ability to guide my students towards them in a positive way.
