My students work extremely hard when writing their essays, going through the entire writing process: brainstorming, drafting, editing & revising, and finally publishing. Nothing is more satisfying to them then to have their published work typed neatly and displayed on the classroom bulletin boards, which are both in and outside the classroom. By having a printer readily available in the classroom, my students will be able to have their finished work almost instantly in their hands. Additionally, having the laminator in the classroom will help with keeping board displays looking neat and new, which will help enhance my students hard work. By seeing that their teacher puts value and pride in their work, they themselves will begin to value and have pride in their own work. They will push themselves harder on each assignment because they know that it's going to be more than just words on a paper. They will know that this work is something that they worked for and something that shows exactly what they are capable of. By the end of the year when they look at their portfolios, I want them to see not only how much their work has improved, but that it is presented in way that shows that their work is important, serious, and valued.
